Lajares is about a 30-minute drive away from the airport. The most comfortable way of exploring this gem is definitely by car.
To get the best deal, book your rental car in advance through websites like Cicar or Autoreisen. We mostly use Cicar – the service is always good and the cars are in tip-top shape. The prices are also affordable!
Bus schedules and routes can be found on this website or at local bus stations.
You can also opt for a taxi directly from the airport. When You step out of the airport building – there’s a sign with all the prices of taxis and different locations.
You can also book a transfer or shuttle from the airport. We have personally used Suntransfers. Their service was good!

Summers can be hot and crowded, while winters can be windy and cool.
Keep in mind that the island is known for its constant winds, which can be a blessing for surfers and kitesurfers but may be less pleasant for beach-goers.
