  • On foot: If you’re up for a scenic walk, you can walk from Corralejo to Sand Dune Beach. The walk takes about 90 minutes, but it’s a beautiful journey through the countryside.
  • By taxi: Taxis are readily available in Corralejo, and they’re a comfortable and convenient way to get to Sand Dune Beach. Just be sure to negotiate the price with the driver beforehand.
  • By car: If you’re renting a car, you can drive to Sand Dune Beach. Just be aware that parking can be limited during peak season. LivingFuerteventura recommends taking a car!

We personally didn’t visit during the high season. But it was still quite busy and parking spaces were taken quickly.

Bus from Corralejo to Sand Dunes

If you’re staying in Corralejo, getting to Sand Dune Beach is easy.

You can take a bus from the town center to the beach, which takes about 15 minutes. The bus runs regularly throughout the day, making it easy to plan your visit. The bus is also very affordable, with tickets costing just a few euros.

Walk from Corralejo to Sand Dunes Beach

For those who prefer to walk, it’s possible to reach Sand Dune Beach from Corralejo on foot.

The walk takes about an hour and a half, but it’s a beautiful and scenic journey.

We would only recommend walking during lower temperatures! Definitely no between 11 AM – 4 PM. It’s simply too hot and You will burn Yourself!

If you prefer to take a taxi to Sand Dune Beach, you’ll find plenty of taxis available in Corralejo.

Taxis are a convenient and comfortable way to travel, and they’re a great option if you’re traveling with a group or if you have mobility issues. Just be sure to negotiate the price with the driver before you start your journey, as prices can vary depending on the time of day and the distance traveled.

We also recommend checking the money when paying with bigger bills. Unfortunately, some taxi drivers take advantage of people on vacation who are a bit more liberal with their spending. Getting back 5 EUR less when paying with a bigger bill like 50 EUR can happen. Be careful! We had to learn this the hard way…

Corralejo Sand Dunes and Grandes Playas

The Grandes Playas is located just south of the Sand Dune Beach, and they’re a great place to swim, sunbathe, and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. The beaches are easily accessible by foot or by car, and they’re a great place to spend a day.

We personally love Sand Dune Beach, and it is our favorite by a long mile.

If You ask us why – the water, the weather, the sand, the people. It’s all quite amazing!

Tips for Visiting Sand Dune Beach Corralejo

  • Wear sunscreen and a hat.
    • We will not get tired of repeating this! The sun in Fuerteventura can be intense, so it’s important to protect yourself from sunburn and heatstroke. Be sure to wear sunscreen and a hat, and bring plenty of water to stay hydrated.
  • Bring a towel and a change of clothes.
    • You’ll definitely want to take a dip in the crystal-clear waters of Sand Dune Beach, so be sure to bring a towel and a change of clothes. The sand can also be quite hot (extremely hot during summer), so wearing sandals or shoes is a good idea.
    • Even if You forget these – the Sun and wind will dry You off quickly!
  • Watch out for nudist areas.
